SSM Health Treffert Studios is a Wisconsin-based center whose mission is to help neurodivergent individuals find their passion and express their talents. It is the next step in the strategic expansion and growth of the SSM Health Treffert Center portfolio of services. This new physical and virtual space expands clinical services and class offerings that focus on the strength of the participants. Our classes are designed for everyone and provide a safe and supportive environment for people to explore their interests and talents as well as support their emotional well-being. Participants learn new skills, build relationships with their peers, and develop a stronger sense of compassion for themselves and others.
The opportunity for social interactions that these groups provide can help reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness, as well as increase self-efficacy and the ability to meet challenges with resilience.
The current offerings at SSM Health Treffert Studios include:
- Make and take art classes
- Lego open build sessions
- Simple baking
- Jump into movement
- Anime and manga book club and drawing
- Family sports outings
- Foreign films
- Crafting with caregivers
- Tune in, a musical workshop
Many classes are open to everyone, and some are broken down into age groups offering sessions for ages 5-10, 11-17, and 18+. The cost per class ranges from $5 to $15.
Feedback from families has been overwhelmingly positive. One parent wrote about their child’s experience in the new simple baking class.
