SSM Health Registered Dietitians (RD) are the experts in food and nutrition and help to promote healthful eating. They provide individuals and their families with practical nutrition guidance for both general wellness and to help manage specific medical conditions. Our team will work closely with you to create an individualized plan that helps you meet your goals and improve your health.

Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)

Our dietitians provide medical nutrition therapy to help manage health conditions including:

  • Diabetes
  • Celiac disease (gluten intolerance)
  • Heart disease risk
  • Hypertension or high blood pressure
  • Elevated cholesterol
  • Food allergies and sensitivities
  • Digestive disorders

Meal plans are individualized to meet personal health needs, food preferences and lifestyle.

Services We Provide

Dietitians provide nutrition counseling on low-cholesterol and low-fat diets, consistent with the National Cholesterol Education Program guidelines. Patients with high cholesterol and/or triglyceride levels are encouraged to meet with a dietitian.

Our dietitians work closely with referring physicians and diabetes nurse specialists to assist those with diabetes in modifying their diet to maintain good blood glucose levels. Our dietitians also offer classed focused on providing knowledge and skills in diabetes self-management.

Dietitians work closely with primary care physicians and referring specialists, including our Comprehensive Weight Management Program, to help individuals develop skills to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
