What are hospital visiting hours?

Our general visiting hours are 8 AM to 8 PM, seven days a week. After 8 PM, a maximum of 2 visitors are allowed and visitors must be parents, legal guardians or grandparents of the patient. For detailed information about visiting hours for a specific unit, please view our visitor policy.

Does the hospital have somewhere I can eat?

Offering casual dining, in a comfortable atmosphere, with special serving stations for every taste, the Café @ Glennon is located on the first floor of the main tower and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Cash, credit and debit (Visa and MasterCard) are accepted for payment.

Does the hospital have a coffee shop?

The coffee shop is located on the ground floor by the main entrance to the hospital and serves specialty coffees, teas, fruit smoothies, simply-to-go salads, sandwiches, fresh baked pastries and cookies. Cash, credit, and debit cards (Visa and MasterCard) are accepted for payment.

Where are the vending machines located?

Vending machines are located on the first floor in the main tower of the hospital. Machines offers a variety of snack items. Vending is available 24 hours, seven days a week.


Are there restaurants located close to the hospital?

SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital is nestled on Grand Avenue in the Midtown neighborhood, making many of the city's wonderful restaurants a short drive away.

Our gift shop is located in the atrium, just inside the main entrance. The shop offers a wide selection of gifts, toys, snacks, books and necessities that you may have forgotten.

Flowers and non-latex balloons can be sent to individual rooms. Order directly through a flower vendor in the St. Louis area and include the room number.

What kind of spiritual support is offered at the hospital?

Spiritual support for patients and their families is available throughout the duration of your hospital stay. Our chapel is open 24 hours and is in the Main Tower on the first floor. All are welcome.

Hospital chaplains may visit patients upon request. You may ask your doctor or nurse to contact us, ask the hospital operator to contact a chaplain or call our office directly at 314-268-2700, ext. 1168. You can also dial 1168 from any hospital phone.

Mass is held at 11:30 AM Monday through Friday and at 9:00 AM on Sunday.

How do I get to the hospital and where can I park?

From I-55 via I-44 westbound:
Take the Grand Blvd./Louisiana Ave. exit (#288). Turn left at the stop sign onto Lafayette. Go one block to Grand and turn right. Once on Grand, get into the left lane. Turn left on Park Ave. and take the first right into the parking lot.

From I-44 eastbound:
Take the Grand Blvd. exit (#288). Turn left at the light onto Grand. Continue north on Grand for three blocks to Park Ave. Turn left on Park and take the first right into the parking lot.

From US-40/I-64 westbound:
Take the Forest Park Ave. exit (#38A) towards Grand Blvd. Follow the signs for Grand Blvd. Turn left onto Grand Blvd. Turn right onto Park Ave. and take the first right into the main driveway.

From US-40/I-64 eastbound:
Take the Grand Blvd. exit (#37B). Turn left onto Grand Blvd. Turn right onto Park Ave. and take the first right into the main driveway.


After turning into the main driveway, accessible parking for children and families in wheelchairs, or with other special needs, is located to the right. Accessible parking is free.

Where is visitor parking located?

Once you turn into the main driveway, parking for visitors is located in and around the parking garage to your left. Visitor parking is free with security on site 24/7.

Are there specific spots for emergency room parking?

Typically, spots closest to the main building are left open for families of children in the Emergency Room.

Do you have accessible parking?

After turning into the main driveway, accessible parking for children and families in wheelchairs or with other special needs is located to the right.

Where can I pick up or drop off?

The circle drive is reserved for those picking up and dropping off patients and families. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended in the circle drive.

We recognize that you are a vital partner in the healing of your child and invite you to visit at any time of day to support their recovery goals.

  • All visitors should check in at the front desk in the main lobby to receive a visitor's pass. Visitors age 18 and over must present a valid photo ID.
  • After 8 PM, a maximum of 2 visitors are allowed and visitors must be parents, legal guardians or grandparents of the patient.
  • Visitors who are experiencing cold or flu symptoms (fever, chills, cough, sore throat, headache, body aches) are asked not to visit.
  • Please follow hand hygiene and physical distancing to help reduce the spread of viruses.
  • Additional restrictions or the use of face masks may apply in certain high-risk areas where patients have compromised immune systems.
  • Compassionate care exceptions may be made in end-of-life situations or when a visitor is essential for the patient's emotional well-being and care.
  • Interpreters and/or clergy may be at the bedside in addition to the below limitations with department leader approval.

Are there departmental visitor guidelines?

  • 2 adult visitors allowed at the bedside.
  • Siblings are allowed to visit when accompanied by an adult.
    • No sibling visitors after 8 pm
  • Overnight visitors must be at least 18 years old.
  • 2 adult visitors allowed at the bedside.
  • Sibling visitors require approval from a department leader.
    • Approved sibling visitors must always be accompanied by a responsible adult.
    • No sibling visitors after 8 pm.
  • 2 adult visitors allowed at the bedside.

  •  Visitors are allowed access to the main hospital to visit the Café as needed.
