Our care model brings together Certified Nurse Midwives, OBGYNs, residents, nurses, and on-staff specialists who work as one team to ensure the safest, and most personalized experience possible. Patients can choose a Certified Nurse Midwife or OBGYN as their primary provider, while knowing that the entire care team is collaborating behind the scenes to meet their needs. If complications arise, our providers seamlessly partner with specialists experienced in managing high-risk pregnancies and deliveries. We believe that building relationships with your family and working together as a team allows us to deliver the high-quality, personalized care you deserve - for a lifetime of health and wellness.

Whether you're a mother to be, support person or a new mom, SSM Health St. Clare classes are designed to provide the information you need in a way that makes learning interesting and fun. Classes are complimentary and you and your partner are welcome! For questions, please call 608-356-1520.
Join us for a four-week evening course designed to guide expectant parents through the incredible experience of childbirth. This class offers up-to-date insights into labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
- Weeks 1-2: Dive into the stages of labor and birth, including how labor progresses and what to expect during delivery. Support persons will learn practical, hands-on techniques to provide comfort and encouragement throughout the process.
- Week 3: Newborn care education.
- Week 4: Dedicated entirely to breastfeeding, this session covers foundational knowledge and helpful tips to support a successful start.

This class is designed to get you off to the best possible start with breastfeeding. If you are planning to breastfeed your newborn, or even just considering it, attend this class with our lactation consultant. You and your support person will learn the basics of breastfeeding, some common problems and solutions, and the benefits for mom and baby. View our class times and register online.
