Janesville, WI – SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Janesville and SSM Health Dean Medical Group – Janesville recently celebrated the grand opening of “Hope Blooms."
Hope Blooms is a special resource space for all community members undergoing cancer treatment. Anyone who is undergoing cancer treatment may visit the space, regardless of whether they receive their health care services at SSM Health.
Offerings at Hope Blooms are completely free for patients and their families. They include:
- Wigs and wig styling (by appointment)
- Treatment essentials like lotions, lip balms, and socks
- Support materials like novels and activity books
“We are so proud that this space is ready to welcome community members, and we look forward to serving patients and their families for many years to come,” said SSM Health St. Mary’s Foundation – Janesville Executive Director Dona Hohensee. The creation of Hope Blooms was a nearly 2-year process. Many Rock County businesses, families, and individuals all contributed to help make it reality.
“We are so grateful for everyone who has contributed and will continue to support Hope Blooms,” Hohensee said.
Run by a dedicated group of volunteers who have supported the cause, Hope Blooms will soon need additional helpers. Individuals who would like to volunteer may contact Dona Hohensee at 608-373-8015 or email Dona.Hohensee@ssmhealth.com to learn more.
Hope Blooms hours will vary each week until the volunteer team is fully staffed. Please visit the SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Janesville Facebook page or call 608-373-8611 for the latest information.
