Despite hot summer temperatures, Oklahomans flocked to downtown Oklahoma City to celebrate the city's first major professional sports championship. The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Indiana Pacers recently in a seven-game series in the 2025 NBA Finals.
The two-mile parade route wrapped past the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum, City Hall, Scissortail Park and the Oklahoma City Convention Center before culminating at Scissortail Park. Officials are still finalizing the final parade attendance. However, early estimates predict the final count will be between 300,000 and 500,000 people despite nearly 100-degree temperatures.
Eight SSM Health paramedics were onsite in Downtown OKC providing medical assistance on the hot summer day. Their help was vital as the city, buoyed by SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital, came together for a historic day.
Special thank you to the following paramedics:
They were truly “Saints in Action,” as we refer to our OKC employees.
