We are excited to share our 2021 SSM Health Year in Review . This publication highlights the many ways in which we came together to provide peace, hope and health to individuals, families, and communities during another challenging year of responding to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
We are proud of all the work done last year by our team members, care providers and volunteers, across the SSM Health system, to fulfill our Mission: Through our exceptional health care services, we reveal the healing presence of God.
As part of our commitment to making health care more affordable and sustainable for all those we serve, in 2021 we expanded telehealth service offerings with the launch of SSM Health Express Virtual Care.
We worked to ensure the health of our communities through initiatives including the “Mobile Market” partnership in Southern Illinois that provides people in need with produce, dairy products, recipes, exercise tips and other health information.
SSM Health also joined efforts to improve health equity and build more inclusive and sustainable local economies, by providing seed funding to support the launch of the national nonprofit Healthcare Anchor Network – and by becoming a founding member of the St. Louis Area Anchor Network. As part of our long-standing commitment to Preservation of the Earth, we eliminated more than 85 tons of waste in 2021.
We are grateful for the support we receive from our communities, and for all we are enabled to do in return. And we are inspired by the tireless efforts of our healthcare heroes – we hope that in reading our Year in Review, you will be, too.
