In Fall of 2024, SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital - Midwest announced a new partnership with Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center (EOC Tech) in Choctaw. The goal was to address the ongoing paramedic shortage in today's workforce.
Hand in hand, our health ministry worked with EOC Tech to create a custom accelerated paramedic training program, specifically for EMTs. The best part? All program costs were paid for by SSM Health.
Program Success
18 Saints in Action® completed the year-long program and graduated recently this summer.
They were able to continue full-time employment with our health ministry while taking classes at EOC Tech all year. The accelerated paramedic curriculum contained the same educational components, clinical rotations, and internship requirements as the traditional paramedic training program.
