Ryan grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin prior to earning his PharmD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy. He developed a passion for clinical pharmacy during his APPE rotations, where he gained experience in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. Ryan was drawn to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital-Madison for its strong focus on patient-centered care, supportive pharmacy team, and diverse learning opportunities. Through residency, he looks forward to building upon his clinical knowledge, further developing his expertise in cardiology, infectious disease, and neurology, and ultimately pursuing a career that allows him to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while contributing to pharmacy practice advancement. In his free time, Ryan enjoys fishing, working out, playing chess, and spending time with family and friends.

Sawyer grew up in Rosholt, WI – a small town in central Wisconsin. He completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmaceutical Science and his PharmD at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He always had a strong interest in science and passion for helping others, which led him to pursue a career in pharmacy. SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Madison’s residency program interested him through the impactful clinical rotations he completed there during his time in pharmacy school. Through these experiences, he was able to identify the supportive culture and knowledgeable pharmacy team at St. Mary’s, which will help further develop his professional and clinical skills. Sawyer is excited to continue working towards his career goals and creating connections with his co-residents and the entire team of healthcare workers at St. Mary’s!

Thomas grew up in Los Angeles, CA. He completed a Bachelor's of Science in Biology from UCLA before going across the country, where he went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to receive his PharmD. Thomas was interested in SSM Health St. Mary’s - Madison’s residency program as it aligns well with his goals of medical writing and offers a well-rounded PGY1 experience, including his interests: rotations in behavioral health and oncology. Thomas is excited to work with the entire SSM Health St. Mary’s team and his co-residents!

Alex grew up in Muskego, WI and pursued his passion for healthcare at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. His desire to help those in need led him to explore the healthcare field during college, ultimately guiding him toward pharmacy school. While completing his PharmD, Alex worked as a pharmacy technician and later as a pharmacy intern at SSM Health St. Mary’s – Madison. Inspired by the collaborative and supportive environment, he chose to continue advancing his career as a pharmacy resident at SSM Health. As a resident, Alex aims to enhance his professional skills, deepen his understanding of pharmacy practice, and gain valuable teaching experience.
