SSM Health, News 3 Now launch Time for Kids: Keys to Health campaign

April 20, 2022 11:38 AM -

Raising happy, healthy kids takes an entire community. Creating a healthy community takes each one of us.

SSM Health and News 3 Now are partnering on a new campaign called Time for Kids: Keys to Health that is designed to address the community health issues that impact our kids’ health in very direct ways. Throughout the next year, we’ll share stories, tips and host community events to empower kids and adults to get involved in the health of their families, neighbors and entire communities.

“When it comes to improving our own health, caring for others and creating a healthier overall community can have big impacts,” says SSM Health Community Health Director Megan Timm. “By coming together to address issues like food security, the health of our environment, and the mental health of our friends, family and neighbors we can have a bigger impact on improving health outcomes for all.”

Throughout the spring season SSM Health experts and the Time for Kids: Keys to Health campaign will share ideas and tips on how to unlock a healthier world through sustainable choices. We’ll share stories with quick, actionable steps area families can take to improve their health and the health of our environment.

“A connection with nature is not just good for the Earth, it’s good for our health,” says SSM Health Family Medicine physician Dr. Roopa Shah. “Getting out into nature and caring for our Earth helps us better regulate our circadian rhythms and boosts our immune system response from a young age. Sustainable living is healthy!”

Moving into the summer and fall our Time for Kids teams will share stories on the importance of food security, offer resources on improving youth mental health, and encourage families to get involved in giving back. Along the way we’ll be out in your community with giveaways, activities, and events that will empower families to unlock a healthier world together.

You can learn more about these efforts by watching for stories on News 3 Now, online at ssmhealth.com/timeforkids, and in your community as we come together to take Time for Kids.
