Modern Healthcare magazine has named Dr. Alexander Garza, SSM Health’s Chief Community Health Officer, as one of the healthcare industry’s 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives for 2024.
The list honors licensed clinicians in executive roles who are deemed by their peers and the senior editors of Modern Healthcare to be paving the way to better health through their executive responsibility, leadership qualities, innovation, community service and achievements inside and outside of their respective organizations.
The magazine praised Dr. Garza’s work to support SSM Health’s strategic focus on social determinants of health (SDOH) and health equity, as well as developing and leveraging key partnerships to advance the system’s comprehensive, integrated approach to community health. He was instrumental in implementing a standard screening tool in Epic to identify patients’ SDOH needs, as well as an electronic referral management platform to connect patients to support from a network of community agencies.
