Sun Prairie, WI – Yesterday SSM Health dedicated its newest outpatient center on its Sun Prairie campus along the Highway 151 corridor at 2840 O’Keeffe Avenue with a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony and preview tours of the medical center.

“These state-of-art facilities were thoughtfully designed to make it easy for everyone we are privileged to serve to have convenient access to the timely care they need,” said Jason Craig, Vice President for SSM Health Wisconsin Medical Group Operations. “By making our services available here in an outpatient setting, we not only deliver care when and where it is needed but help to free up access to our area hospitals for people who may need more intense, around-the-clock care.”

The new 90,000-square-foot facility offers improved access for eye care and outpatient eye and orthopedic surgical services, featuring an onsite pharmacy, an optical laboratory, retail optical and laboratory services.

“We welcome this beautiful new addition to Sun Prairie,” said Steve Stocker, mayor of Sun Prairie. “Our motto is ‘revolves around you,’ and we are thrilled that SSM Health has taken such care to provide services in such a beautiful and sustainable setting that can be easily accessed by everyone in and around our community.”

The structure and surrounding grounds were designed with sustainability, energy-efficiency and restorative good health in mind. To realize this vision, SSM Health partnered with Kahler Slater, an architect/design firm, and general contractor Findorff, known for their collaborative approach in developing sustainable structures with proven operational excellence.

“Every detail for this center was deliberately chosen, from the selection of building materials and landscaping to the indoor air quality, acoustics and ergonomic workspaces with their access to abundant natural light and views of nature,” said Kahler Slater architect Melinda Pogwizd. “I can’t wait for patients and caregivers to experience it.”

The outpatient center will open to the public on September 22, 2025.
