Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - SSM Health today announces leadership appointments that will support the continued growth and success of its Oklahoma and Mid-Missouri region and system overall.
Joe Hodges, Regional President for Oklahoma and Mid-Missouri, has been promoted to the position of Chief Operations Executive for SSM Health. The new position expands his responsibilities to include ensuring strategic alignment across the health system overall to provide exceptional health care services.
As Hodges begins his new role, Tammy Powell has been appointed Regional President for Oklahoma and Mid-Missouri, and Stacy Coleman has been named President of SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital - Oklahoma City.
Hodges began his service to SSM Health in Oklahoma 34 years ago as a graduate student working part time in the business office. Prior to serving as Regional President and stepping into the expanded role of Chief Operations Executive, Hodges worked in a variety of leadership roles at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital, including President, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and Vice President of Operations and Executive Director of Oncology and Administrative Services.
Powell began her SSM Health career in 1989, as a staff nurse at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital and has devoted more than 35 years to serving patients, communities and care teams. Throughout her tenure, she has held a variety of leadership roles, including Chief Nurse Executive, Chief Operating Officer and President of SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital and SSM Health Bone & Joint at St. Anthony. She has played a key role in the growth of SSM Health's Oklahoma region by expanding access to care throughout Oklahoma City and surrounding communities while strengthening the organization's presence in rural markets.
Coleman, who currently serves as President of SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital - Midwest in Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Regional Vice President of Strategy, also brings more than three decades of experience with SSM Health. Since joining the organization while in graduate school, she has held several strategic and operational leadership positions, including Regional Vice President of Strategy and Service Line Operations. Her leadership has helped advance strategic growth, operational excellence and a culture focused on quality and patient-centered care.
