SSM Health’s reputation as a premier destination for employees keeps growing, thanks in part to three recent awards. Newsweek named the health system as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women for 2026, as well as a 2026 greatest workplace for Culture, Belonging and Community. Meanwhile, Becker’s Healthcare cited SSM Health as one of the Top Places to Work in Healthcare for 2026.
The award as a top employer for women marks the third year in a row that SSM Health was selected. The health system obtained five out of five stars in earning the 2026 honor. The award is a testament to the retention and recruitment efforts that have made SSM Health a leading choice for many women employees.
The Newsweek selections are based on a multidimensional study that incorporates perspectives from more than 580,000 employees across the country. Newsweek teamed with the Plant-A Insights Group to interview more than 179,000 workers between April and October of 2025. The researchers also collected 2.7 million company reviews.
The honors from Newsweek coincide with the accolades from Becker’s. Becker’s noted that SSM Health’s “values of compassion, respect, excellence, stewardship and community shape a workplace that emphasizes purpose, belonging and care for the whole person.”
SSM Health, the publication added, “emphasizes employee voice and engagement through regular feedback surveys and transparent dialogue focused on work-life balance and well-being.”
