SSM Health Cancer Care APNP Michelle Stahl has found her calling.
The longtime oncology nurse is growing in her new role as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) in Janesville, Wisconsin.
“I love what I do because of the patients,” she said. “It’s an honor to be part of their day-to-day.”
Michelle started to work in healthcare while still in high school. She took CNA classes through Madison College and worked in a skilled nursing facility, before eventually becoming an inpatient RN.
“Providing inpatient care was where I really discovered my love for oncology,” she said.
Michelle has always believed in the importance of continuing education, and over the years, she has cared for patients while also continuing to go to school.
As an APNP, she is now able to directly assist oncology physicians with creating and carrying out patient care journeys.
“I love that I’m able to work in an environment that has a small-town feel but has the resources to align with large academic organizations to ensure optimal care,” she said.
