Medical Student Rotation
SSM Health Monroe Hospital provides more than 200 rotations annually to students to better understand rural medicine, see a variety of patients, and interact with different styles of practice.
Auditioning & Visiting Student Rotations
SSM Health Monroe Hospital accepts applications for visiting medical students to complete audition rotations in Rural Full Scope Family Medicine. Applications are accepted from fourth-year medical students for audition rotations.
Audition students work one-on-one with residents, faculty, and the family medicine residency program director to experience full scope family medicine. The experience includes clinical time in the residency clinic caring for patients of all ages with a wide breadth of acute and chronic conditions.
Sub-Internship Rotations
The traditional sub-internship rotation is a four-week rotation with SSM Health Monroe Hospital’s Family Medicine Residency that is intended to be an all-around exposure to our program and the varied aspects of a “full-scope” training. Designed for an interested medical student considering a career in full-scope Family Medicine, individuals rotate on each of our core rotations: Inpatient Family Medicine, Family Medicine Residency Outpatient clinic, or Emergency Medicine.
