The resident will select 3, 5-week elective learning experiences:
- Advanced Cardiology/Electrophysiology
- Advanced Internal Medicine
- Ambulatory Care – Primary Care
- Ambulatory Care – Behavioral Health
- Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship
- Residency Teaching Certificate (longitudinal)
Longitudinal Learning Experiences
- Ambulatory Care – Anticoagulation Management
- Medication Safety and Policy
- Practice Advancement/Research
- Service Commitment
Certifications and Teaching Opportunities
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Prepare and deliver a continuing education seminar at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis
- Co-precept APPE students
- Optional completion of a teaching certificate program through Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
Staffing Requirements
- Work every fourth weekend (two 8-hour shifts)
- Work one evening shift per week (4-hour duration)
- Staff two days surrounding a major holiday (8-hour shifts; options include day after Thanksgiving, days surrounding Christmas, and New Years Eve)
