About the Ministry
One ministry, two hospitals – SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – St. Charles is a medium-sized community hospital located in historic, downtown St. Charles, MO. It has designations as a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center, a Level II STEMI center, and a Bronze Standard Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department. The hospital offers a wide variety of specialties, including cardiology, electrophysiology, neurology, nephrology, pulmonology, infectious disease, thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, and intensive care. SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – Wentzville specializes in behavioral health inpatient and outpatient care, including a long-acting injectable clinic for behavioral health patients.
Residency Overview
The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at the SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital St. Charles ministry is a 12-month program designed to develop residents’ clinical knowledge and skills through exposure to a variety of practice settings across two hospital locations. Residents will develop their clinical knowledge as well as their interpersonal communication, project management, teaching, and leadership skills in order to become confident, capable clinical pharmacists in a community hospital setting. The program will be designed to optimize the learning experience based on each resident’s interests and needs.
The PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency conducted by SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – St. Charles has an accreditation candidate status with ASHP.
