Medical Student Rotation

There is no better way to experience all that St. Anthony has to offer than spending time with us on a rotation. Let us show you why we love family medicine! Audition rotations are available to 4th year medical students. While you are here you will see patients in the following settings:

  • Family Medicine Clinic: where you will work one-on-one with a resident or attending, see your own patients, make an assessment and plan and present to attendings, alongside resident. You will also be able to observe/assist in office procedures.
  • Inpatient Service: where you will table round with the team in the mornings, be responsible for patients, be able to present at rounds and also observe/assist in procedures.
  • Labor and Delivery: work on our Family Medicine Obstetrics team, providing intrapartum and postpartum care to our mothers and providing care to our newborns.

In addition to completing the information below, we will need:

  • A copy of your unofficial medical school transcript.
  • A copy of your board scores.

How do I get an audition rotation and/or an interview?

  • Pass USMLE Step 1 or COMLEX Level 1.
  • Not fail board exams more than once.
    • Students who fail more than one test will not meet criteria. For example, if a student failed USMLE 1 twice or failed USMLE 1 and 2 each on the first try, the student would not meet criteria.
  • Submit Medical School transcripts with grades equivalent to a grade point average of 2.5.
    • Applicants who fail 3 or more classes or repeat a semester for academic reasons will not be eligible.
    • Applicants who are in a probationary status will not be eligible.
    • Applicants who fail 1 or 2 classes and also fail USMLE 1 or COMLEX 1 on the first attempt will not be eligible.

You will get to work with the residents in an after-hours free clinic. In addition, you will participate in a robust didactic curriculum that includes a variety of lectures, discussions and workshops.

We hope you will consider joining us!
